I’ve been so busy lately, I haven’t had time to write a proper blog post. So instead, I’m posting this picture of a little baby hedgehog. That’s kipod to you.

So busy! Look at this

November 26th, 2009 by CynthiaWhy is it so hard to take your money?
November 25th, 2009 by CynthiaAs some of you may have experienced, PayPal payments don’t always work. I have received a few complaints about PayPal, so I investigated other payment options. Long story short, I now accept check or money orders through my Etsy store: bearduck.etsy.com I know it’s not the best solution, or even a good one, but it’s the best I can offer right now. The whole situation is pretty annoying, since I don’t like dealing with paper money at all and I consider checks to be particularly outdated. But adding credit card payments to my webstore is actually really expensive and more complicated than I can handle right now. Hopefully I’ll be able to address that in the future, but until then we have checks and money order. Whee.
p.s. Please note that the check/money order option is only available at my etsy store. If you’re interested in something that is not listed, contact me and I’ll make a special listing especially for you!
Shocking Bioshock costumes

November 23rd, 2009 by CynthiaI love Thanksgiving. I can start the day watching a parade on tv and spend the rest of the day eating. And then there’s shopping, shopping, shopping. And now that I have a webstore, I can participate in the festivities by holding a sale of my own! For Thanksgiving weekend (November 26-30), the entire store will be 15% off. Originally, the sale was only to be on Friday, but when I tried to strategize my own post-holiday shopping agenda, I realized one-day sales are actually pretty hard to navigate. So I decided to extend the sale throughout the whole weekend. Just thinking about it puts me in a holiday mood! Now I will return to my shopping exercises: elbowing other shoppers out of the way and snatching everything in sight.

Leggo my Lego
November 20th, 2009 by CynthiaWe have been obsessed with the Lego series games lately. They’ve been around for so long, and I had no idea how fun they are until just recently. So cute, and no talking.
In semi-related news, I read this article in Slate about co-op game play. Luckily, no one I play with is as jerk-y as what he describes.
Pen and paper are DOOMED
November 19th, 2009 by CynthiaI know this is old news, but I just saw this Gizmodo article about Microsoft’s Courier tablet. Want.
Bag of Crap is crap!
November 18th, 2009 by CynthiaI don’t know how much time I’ve wasted waiting for a bag of crap on Woot. It makes me so mad but I can’t ignore it.
Promises of warmth
November 17th, 2009 by CynthiaWith the prospect of another Seattle winter upon us, I have been developing my stay-warm strategy. That’s when I came across this from Uniqlo:

Heat tech? Japan technology? Sounds like a can’t-fail proposition to me. I think I’ll get some and hopefully they will make waiting for the bus a little more bearable.
New products for the holidays
November 16th, 2009 by Cynthia
Inspired by a request from our real estate agent, I have made some magnets especially for the holidays. They come in a tin with a window and a card so the whole thing can serve as a greeting card/present. I was especially pleased with this idea since it’s perfect for the times when you want to send more than a card, but less than a full-blown present. The politics of gift-and-card exchanges are much more complicated than I can handle, but I’m glad to at least have this option at hand.
View our (not especially nerdy) selection here. (For the geeks out there, I’m considering expanding this line of gift tins so stay tuned.)
