On the other hand, I’m still waiting for my new computer to arrive, so it’s not that great yet. Maybe I should say 2010 is off to a fair start.

My husband ordered a new iMac for me. I am so, so indescribably excited. It will take two weeks for it to arrive, so in the meanwhile, I am using an old laptop with a faulty ‘O’ buttn.
In other news, we’re having a sale on all our holiday products. Everything in the holiday area is 30% off. The game console ornaments sold better than I expected, so there aren’t many left. Get them while they last!

December 10th, 2009 by CynthiaI guess it was inevitable. With every blog comes an apology for lack of attention to the blog. Sorry for the neglect. I guess that even the baby hedgehog in the previous post could not hold you captive forever. My excuses:
- We have a houseguest that makes us drink alcohol each night and I end up passing out without writing anything in the blog.
- We have a deadline so I’m actually working at work.
- The shop is experiencing a Christmas rush and all the time where I’m not drinking or working is spent filling orders.
Regarding that last point, we have gotten some press for the Xbox 360 Christmas ornament lately. First on Kotaku.

And finally, they also showed up on this gift guide. It’s all very exciting, but I’m kind of too tired right now to have a real reaction. I also read some of the comments about the ornaments (i.e. red ring, too expensive, etc.) but that will have to wait for another post. ‘Wait’ being the operative word. (har har…)

Why is it so hard to take your money?
November 25th, 2009 by CynthiaAs some of you may have experienced, PayPal payments don’t always work. I have received a few complaints about PayPal, so I investigated other payment options. Long story short, I now accept check or money orders through my Etsy store: bearduck.etsy.com I know it’s not the best solution, or even a good one, but it’s the best I can offer right now. The whole situation is pretty annoying, since I don’t like dealing with paper money at all and I consider checks to be particularly outdated. But adding credit card payments to my webstore is actually really expensive and more complicated than I can handle right now. Hopefully I’ll be able to address that in the future, but until then we have checks and money order. Whee.

An American tradition
November 23rd, 2009 by CynthiaI love Thanksgiving. I can start the day watching a parade on tv and spend the rest of the day eating. And then there’s shopping, shopping, shopping. And now that I have a webstore, I can participate in the festivities by holding a sale of my own! For Thanksgiving weekend (November 26-30), the entire store will be 15% off. Originally, the sale was only to be on Friday, but when I tried to strategize my own post-holiday shopping agenda, I realized one-day sales are actually pretty hard to navigate. So I decided to extend the sale throughout the whole weekend. Just thinking about it puts me in a holiday mood! Now I will return to my shopping exercises: elbowing other shoppers out of the way and snatching everything in sight.
Leggo my Lego
