Sorry! And quick update

Posted in Our shop!
December 10th, 2009 by Cynthia

I guess it was inevitable.  With every blog comes an apology for lack of attention to the blog.  Sorry for the neglect.  I guess that even the baby hedgehog in the previous post could not hold you captive forever.  My excuses:

  • We have a houseguest that makes us drink alcohol each night and I end up passing out without writing anything in the blog.
  • We have a deadline so I’m actually working at work.
  • The shop is experiencing a Christmas rush and all the time where I’m not drinking or working is spent filling orders.

Regarding that last point, we have gotten some press for the Xbox 360 Christmas ornament lately.  First on Kotaku.

Which linked to Wonderland.

And finally, they also showed up on this gift guide.  It’s all very exciting, but I’m kind of too tired right now to have a real reaction.  I also read some of the comments about the ornaments (i.e. red ring, too expensive, etc.) but that will have to wait for another post.  ‘Wait’ being the operative word.  (har har…)

November newsletter

Posted in Our shop!
November 2nd, 2009 by Cynthia

For those that subscribe to our newsletter, this will be old news.  For those that don’t subscribe, let’s remedy that right now.

Here are the highlights from our November newsletter:

bear duck news

Now that pesky Halloween is behind us, let us focus on the real extravaganza: Christmas.  To celebrate, we have new products for the holidays.

-iPhone icons in gingerbread the same ones pictured in the previous post.  They’re available now.  If you don’t want the entire set, you can pick your favorites to make your own set of four too.

-Game console Christmas ornaments including the wii, PS3, and xbox 360.  I’m really pleased with how these turned out.  They look so cute hanging from a branch, as you can see from our pictures.

Our winter packaging will be available on the day after Thanksgiving: November 27. Which incidentally, is also the biggest shopping day of the year for us Americans. To celebrate Black Friday, everything in the store will be 15% off. This sale will last for one day only from midnight to midnight PST.

Holiday sneak peek

Posted in Our shop!
October 29th, 2009 by Cynthia

I’ve been working like an elf making these gingerbread iPhone magnets:

gingerbread iPhone icons

I tried to take each icon and think of how to represent it with candy and frosting.  Of course, the ‘candy,’ ‘frosting,’ and ‘gingerbread’ are all clay so they won’t attract nibblers.  They won’t be in our store until November 2, so this is just a preview.  I’m also making some game console ornaments for the holidays.

Sign up for our newsletter to be notified when all this is available!  I’ll also include a coupon with the newsletter so don’t miss out!

Something for fanboys (haha)

I just saw this:

bladelessfan

on the Dyson website.  It’s a unique new fan that works without blades.  I could imagine it on my desk; it’s a beautiful accessory.  And I love the sci-fi sounding name: Air Multiplier.  However, it costs $300.  So, as with most new technologies, I can’t afford to be an early adopter.  *sigh*  The wait begins…

Vodka + skull + Dan Aykroyd

Posted in Culmination of civilization
October 13th, 2009 by Cynthia

My friend just showed me this bottle of vodka.

This is so perfect for Halloween. If you go to their website, you can watch Dan Dykroyd describe how the bottle was inspired by the mystery of the crystal skulls. Almost everything he said made me like it more. Mystery! Day of the Dead! Newfoundland!

It also reminds me of Damien Hirst’s diamond-encrusted skull.

Which is fitting because if you watch the video, it will tell you that they filter the vodka through diamonds. Diamonds!

Speaking of bedazzled skulls, I saw this Hirst diy kit a while ago and thought it was kind of awesome too.
